Sierra Nevada Space Systems Tour:
Also, join us 1:30 to 3:00 PM for a tour of Sierra Nevada Space Systems after the program. Sierra Nevada Space Systems, located in Louisville (about 15 minutes from the event location), designs and manufactures satellites, spacecraft subsystems and components, and rocket propulsion systems. The tour will highlight one of their newest products: a green propulsion system.
Contact Merrily Hill Smith to be placed on the tour list. Please Note: Due to company security requirements, tour attendees must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. The preferred way of proving citizenship is a letter from your company HR Department on company letterhead validating your U.S. person status per International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR). This letter will need to be sent via email to Sierra Nevada by close of business Friday, September 10th. In addition, photo ID will be required to attend the tour.

Presenter Information:
Alex R. Folk, Center Operations Manager, NIST MEP
Folk is responsible for the oversight of the Federal partnerships and investments. Also, he manages several Federal and Trade Association collaborations. Prior to this employment, Folk worked as an Account Manager for the cooperative agreements maintained between NIST MEP and the MEP Center affiliates located throughout the U.S.
Mary H. Saunders, Deputy Assistant Secretary, ITA
Saunders manages the day-to-day operations of the ITA's Manufacturing and Services division of more than 200 industry specialists, economists, and international trade experts. She helps strengthen the competitive position of U.S. industries in the U.S. and world markets by coordinating Commerce department strategies, policies, and programs. Prior to this employment, Saunders administered a range of standards-related programs to provide solutions to regulatory and industry needs and increase trade opportunities.
Mark H. Taylor, Site Manager, Boeing Mission Operations Colorado
Taylor oversees the day-to-day operations of the 60,000 square foot Boeing Aurora facility and its 300 plus employees. He is, also, Colorado's point of contract for Boeing's Energy Solutions Group. He began his career with Rockwell International as a software engineer. Throughout his career, Taylor has worked on various technical programs as an engineer, technical lead, and program manager.
Torben Poulsen, Vice President-Factory Manager, Vestas Nacelles America, Inc
Poulsen administers production, logistics, quality, health & safety, human resources, and finance. Prior to this employment, he has held several key postions responsible for sourcing, master planning, supplier development & quality, as well as, following Vestas group functions: capacity planning, spare parts, and transport.
Scott Tibbitts, Founder and Vice Chairman, eSpace Board of Directors
Tibbitts' early career began as the founder of Starsys Research Corporation to bring a promising thermal actuator technology to the spacecraft industry. Tibbitts assumed the role of Managing Director of SpaceDev Inc. He is the recipient of the "Espirit Entrepreneur of Distinction" award in 1998, and the holder of three patents for spacecraft products.
Gurumurthi Ravishankar, VP of Operations and Product Development, CAMT
Ravishankar oversees operations, client services, and product development for CAMT. He has over 25 years experience with leading business transformations in implementing lean methodologies, Six Sigma, product development, technology transfer, and manufacturing strategies. His recent efforts reside in green manufacturing, CleanTech, and renewable energy.
